This weekend, the Flint Regional Science Fair was held, with more than 300 high school students competing. This was Nouvel's second year competing, and we are so proud to share that every Nouvel student and their hard work was awarded. Congratulations to the following Panthers on their well deserved achievements.
Senior, Andrew Wagner won 1st place, $500, a full ride scholarship to the University of Michigan Flint, $3,000 to Kettering, a City of Flint Mayor award, Naval Research Science award, Richo Sustainable Development award and the Mott Community College Technology award. Andrew is also a finalist for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This year, ISEF will be held in Texas and all expenses for the week are paid for. ISEF is the largest pre-college science competition in the world.

Senior, Jessenia Olascuaga placed 6th with $200, she also won the Bosch "We Set the Pace" award (which comes with Bosch power tools) and won the Mott Community College Technology award.
Junior, Riley Mattheis was awarded with an honorable mention and received the Bosch "Invented for Tomorrow" award, which also comes with power tools.
Sophomore, Camden Kaul, was awarded with an honorable mention and won the Mott Community College Technology award.
Advisor, Ms. Wagner shared, "It was a pleasure to work with each of these students over the past few months. All the work was done after school hours, we all really got to know each other and learned so much! With the exception of Andrew, the rest of the Nouvel students have never participated in a science fair at this level. I am extremely proud of them for earning these awards and the hard work shown. Every single Nouvel student left the fair with an award. I cannot wait to see what their future has in store."
