On Wednesday, August 14, Nouvel Catholic Central Schools announced the hiring of two new staff members. Nouvel is proud to welcome Jacob Bender and Eric Marshall to the Panther family.
Jacob Bender will serve as the High School Band Director and provide support for the band program at the Elementary. Bender has a Masters of Music degree in Wind Band Conducting from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Penn and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Michigan State University. He is a member of the College Band Directors National Association and has a diverse background in guest conducting, teaching and conducting symposiums throughout the United States and Austria. Bender was born and raised in Marquette, Mich. where he attended Mass at St. Peter Cathedral.
“I am excited to take this new roll knowing that I will be able to share my passion for music and foster an environment that allows each student musician to grow in music and faith,” said Bender. “I look forward to engaging with the hard-working and dedicated students of the band and to be a member of the faculty at Nouvel Catholic Central Schools. It is my hope that the band and music program will continue to grow from the good work that has already been forged.”
Eric Marshall will be returning to Nouvel Catholic Central High School as a Mathematics/Sciences Instructor. Marshall has a Master’s degree in Applied Science and Mathematics Track from Michigan Technological University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Ferris State University. Marshall has been teaching for the past eight years, five of those were at Nouvel Catholic Central as a Mathematics Teacher and Class Advisor. Marshall and his wife have a five-month old son and are members at Blessed Trinity in Frankenmuth.
“I am excited to be back with the Nouvel family this coming school year and look forward to bringing my faith and STEM experience from my undergraduate work in CAD Drafting Tool Design and Master’s degree in Applied Science Education into my classes,” shared Marshall.
