On Thursday, June 25, Nouvel Catholic Central announced that Mr. Patrick Bevier has accepted the position of Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary & Middle School Principal.
Bevier comes to Nouvel with 28 years of experience in the field of education. In a building leadership role, he has 20 years of service as a principal at the elementary and middle school levels. Additionally, he has been a classroom teacher at the elementary, middle school, high school and college levels. Bevier has earned a bachelor’s degree from Lake Superior State University and masters’ degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as in Biology.
Led by Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Mr. Cormac Lynn, a selection committee was formed, consisting of eleven members. Committee representation consisted of parents, faculty, staff and administration. The committee then forwarded their recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
“Upon receiving the strong recommendation from our selection committee, board members had an opportunity to meet virtually with Mr. Bevier,” said Board of Trustees Chair, Mr. Patrick McCarthy. “Based on feedback from the committee and board, Mr. Bevier was presented as the preferred candidate and it was my pleasure to recommend Mr. Bevier to Bishop Gruss,” added McCarthy.
“With approval from Bishop Gruss, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Bevier has accepted the position of Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary and Middle School Principal, effective July 1” said Lynn.
Bishop Gruss shared, “We are fortunate to bring Mr. Bevier into our school system. His experience in education will be a strong asset and great benefit for Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary and Middle School.”
In his previous leadership roles, Mr. Bevier, along with the support of faculty and staff, helped to accomplish the following:
Led an elementary school to be awarded the Michigan and National Blue Ribbon Exemplary Schools designation
Facilitated partnerships to secure over $40,000 in technology and STEM-related grants
Worked with and supported staff to win numerous awards including Michigan Green Schools and MASB Excellence in Education designations
Named Science Educator of the Year in Missouri

Bevier and his wife, Lydia, have four children. He is currently a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Midland but hopes to join a parish in Saginaw, upon relocating to the area.
