Freshman, Kathryn Messana was recently recognized as one of 325 high-achieving students who received extremely high scores on a college entrance exam taken while in middle school.
Kathryn is the daughter of Stephen and Sigrid Messana. Her achievement was celebrated at the HATS (High Achieving Talented Students) Off Recognition Ceremony, hosted by the Gifted and Talented Education office at Michigan State University on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
The SAT and ACT tests are administered annually to approximately 2,250 Michigan middle school students who demonstrate high academic ability. These SAT and ACT tests are the same tests utilized by high school juniors and seniors as a part of the college admissions process. Nationally, more than 100,000 middle school students participate annually in this research-based Talent Search model.
