As shared with the community on May 8, 2023, Nouvel Catholic Central is proud to announce that Mr. Timothy Marciniak has accepted the position of Nouvel Catholic Central High School and Middle School Principal, effective August 1, 2023.
Marciniak comes to Nouvel with more than 30 years of experience in the field of education. In a building leadership role, he has 25 years of service as a leader at the high school and middle school levels. Prior to serving as an administrator, he spent time as a 4th grade teacher and middle school teacher. Marciniak earned a Master’s of Education degree from Saginaw Valley State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Central Michigan University. He is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association.
Marciniak has a history with Catholic education. He attended St. Hyacinth and graduated from Bay City All Saints. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and he and his family are parishioners of St. Jude Thaddeus in Essexville.
Led by Head of School, Mr. Dan Decuf, a selection committee was formed and consisted of Bishop Gruss and representatives of Nouvel parents, staff and administration, Board of Trustees and Diocesan staff. With support from Bishop Gruss and the Office of Catholic Schools, the selection committee then forwarded their recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
“I was fortunate to serve as the Board representative on the interview committee,” shared Mr. Brian Buckingham, Board of Trustees Treasurer. “Through the interview process, I found Mr. Marciniak to be thoughtful, engaging and very professional. His 30 years of experience, including service as a middle school teacher, middle school principal and high school principal, will be a great asset to Nouvel Catholic Central. We are blessed that God has included us as a part of Mr. Marciniak’s faith journey and are excited for him to get to know our awesome students and families,” added Buckingham.
Head of School, Decuf added, “Mr. Marciniak comes to us with a great reputation as a servant leader. His time as a student at St. Hyacinth and All Saints will serve him well. I am personally very excited about the impact he will have and the leadership he will provide our school and faith-based community.”

The family atmosphere, paired with the incredible opportunities on campus and the growth that’s in progress, are all such strong blessings that I’m honored to be a part of. My education started in Catholic schools and I’m excited to serve as a Catholic school leader, adding to my faith-filled journey.”
Marciniak is married to Stefanie Benson, an elementary teacher. He also has two children, Madison and Ryan. The Marciniak family resides in Bay City.
