January student of the month is Derek Bauer, class of 2024. Derek is the son of Mark & Monica Bauer and is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish. Mr. Bartels nominated Derek and shared, “Derek gives 100% to everything he attempts. His passion and energy in class, on the field and in scouting makes a difference at our school every day”. Derek plays soccer and is a member of band, NHS and the quiz bowl team. Derek is also in the STEM club, stock club, and in scouts. He represents Nouvel in the community as a Chief Science Officer (CSO). He loves volunteering at the Saginaw Children’s Zoo and builds model rockets in his free time. His favorite class is Theology.
