Nouvel Catholic Central is proud to announce that our NCCHS band program, under the leadership of band instructor Mr. Jacob Bender, has received a $10,000 grant from the Watson Foundation. This generous donation from the Watson foundation will allow Nouvel to provide the best education possible by ensuring that students are supplied with quality instruments that are housed in an environment that condones maximum learning.
Currently 49 high school students, representing 24% of our student body, are part of the band program. When asked what it means for the students, Mr. Bender shared, “not only will this grant help the program financially, this shows to the students that the community supports and understands the time and dedication it takes to provide quality performances. It also gives our students the resources they need to let their God-given talents shine.”
“Mr. Bender has been a tremendous asset leading our students and the band program,” added NCCHS Principal, Mr. Dan Decuf. “The strongest schools have thriving fine arts programs and we are thankful for Mr. Bender and his leadership to the students, the band program and our school.”
