Congratulations to seniors Colin Kaul and Andy Wagner for receiving first place in the A.H. Nickless Innovation Award! Colin and Andy with their first place win will receive up to five $5,000 scholarships for student team members and a $20,000 STEM education grant for our school.
Nouvel had 3 teams competing in Phase Two of the competition on Saturday, April 15th. The students were tasked to "think innovatively and develop solutions to problems affecting the world." Each of the 3 teams from Nouvel received a $1,000 grant to conduct their research and develop a solution. Not only were the students representing Nouvel as they advance to Phase Two of the competition, but they also reflect 3 of the 18 teams who competed regionally. Representing Nouvel were sophomores: Ta'Najah Farris, Veronica Gross and Sarah Moore (not pictured) - juniors: Riley Mattheis and Cade Norman - seniors: Colin Kaul, Ashley McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Jacob Miros, Andrew Wagner and Ionna Zeleniuk.
Thanks to each of our students for representing Nouvel for the very first time at this annual competition! These students have been hard at work since October, spending time after school and during lunch, juggling other student activities while putting their projects together. We are so proud of each student and their hard work! A special thanks to Ms. Wagner for leading these groups.
