Career Exploration
Did you know that there are many FREE resources to assist with Career Exploration and college/university matching that you can explore at home? Mrs. Boros will explore many of these resources in the classroom with students throughout their time at Nouvel. However, there is no harm in digging in a little deeper at home as a family!
A free online resource that assists with career exploration including free use of the O*NET interest inventory, as well as valuable information to explore growing industries, educational committment to pursue a particular career, as well as salary information, available educational programs by state, and closely related careers.
- Mrs. Boros will introduce students to MyNextMove during 11th grade. Students will complete the O*NET inventory which will match them with careers and/or fields of study that may interest them.
- Additional tools allow students to find educational programs that match their potential careers, explore projected job markets, identify strengths and skills that are beneficial for different careers, and access salary expectations.

College Exploration
Although there are many ways to explore and select colleges of interest, there are many factors to consider. From GPA to test scores and campus size to program offerings, the amount of information can be overwhelming. There are many tools that can assist you in narrowing down (or even identifying) colleges that may be a good fit.
Find your college match! By entering your GPA, test scores, and preferences regarding important factors to you, you are matched with colleges! The website also creates a running list for you of colleges that you have applied to based on the information you provide and categorizes these into Reach, Match, or Likely schools!
- Mrs. Boros will introduce students to Appily during 11th grade. Students will create an account, select potential majors or fields of study, enter their SAT score information, GPA, and other important factors that will assist in identifying potential universities/colleges of interest.
- Students can also create a list of schools they intend to apply to, track application completion/status, and so much more!
College Application Process
College Applications can be submitted in a number of ways. The most popular options are to apply to a college directly on their website OR by utiizing a college application platform such as Common App or Coalition App. Most college applications require input from the high school counselor. Please be sure to enter Mrs. Boros' e-mail address correctly into your application.

Upon completion of your application, you must also request that your high school transcript be sent, as a supplement to your application. If you apply directly to a school, you will want to have the transcript sent to that school directly for each application. If you are submitting applications through Common App, you only need to submit one transcript request to be sent to CommonApp.

989-399-2231For example, if you apply to University of Michigan and Michigan State University via each school's website, you would place two orders for your transcript to be sent to Michigan State University and to U of M. However, if you apply to both schools via CommonApp (regardless of the timing), you only need to place one order for the transcript to be sent to CommonApp.All transcript requests must be made through Parchment.
