The Michigan Art Education Association’s (MAEA) Region 11 Exhibition Show awards ceremony was held on Saturday, February 29 and took place at the Saginaw Art Museum (1126 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw). The exhibition featured more than 100 works from elementary through high school students in various media.

Four elementary students have their work selected for the Top 100 pieces of elementary art work in the state. The students are Zeva (3rd grade), Marlie (4th grade), Rheese (5th grade), and Molly (2nd grade). Molly's work is in the Top 15 for the State of Michigan and will go on to be displayed at the Art teacher Conference in the fall.
Three Middle school students had work selected for the State art show. Students Mairin (6th grade) and Caroline (7th grade) are in the Top 100 Middle school Art works. Elise (8th grade) will have her work on display at the Michigan Education Building for the next year.
Five Nouvel Catholic Central High School seniors had their artwork selected for competition. Both Kieran and Alivia's artwork was selected to advance to the State competition.
Although the State Show was scheduled to be hosted in Midland this year, due to the current climate, this will now be a digital art show for the students and parents to view online. Each artist will receive a special certificate for their achievement.
