Nouvel Catholic Central High School announces new Guidance Counselor

On Tuesday, October 8, Nouvel Catholic Central High School welcomed their new Guidance Counselor,
Tina Gutierrez, to the Panther family.
Gutierrez was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. She has personally experienced Catholic school education having attended Holy Family Elementary and St Mary’s Elementary/High School. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School. Gutierrez holds a Master of Arts Degree in Secondary School Counseling and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Mathematics Major and a Bilingual Minor from Central Michigan University.
Gutierrez comes to Nouvel with 30 years’ experience in the Saginaw Public Schools. She started her public school career as an elementary school teacher, holding various positons in the classroom and as a resource teacher. She later worked as a Bilingual Coordinator and Career Development Counselor at the Saginaw Career Complex. She finished off her years with Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy as a counselor.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve at Nouvel,” says Gutierrez. “This is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time; work with students in a Catholic school setting where I can overtly express my faith within the context of my work. I am humbled and grateful.”
