Nouvel Catholic Central is proud to announce that senior, Jonathan Tunney has been named a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by Mr. Decuf to Mr. Jonathan Tunney.
About 34,000 students are honored as Commended Students, being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students are placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT (PSAT).
Jonathan is the son of Jason and Pamela Tunney. He is involved in football, basketball, National Honor Society, SADD, Honor Guard and Homecoming Court. Jonathan and his family are members at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
