It is our final support teacher spotlight, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! Congratulations to another one of our Nouvel Teachers of the Week, Mrs. Aubrey Walker. As a middle school math support teacher, Mrs. Walker teaches 7th grade accelerated math and 8th grade Algebra 1. Additionally she teaches several math classes at the high school level. She is also a proud Nouvel alum.
Mrs. Walker's favorite Saint is Saint Sebastian and her favorite books is, "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch.
Her proudest teaching moments are when she can see the "lightbulb" go on for students. "We may go through multiple examples covering a topic and they may struggle with grasping the concept, but then when they push through that struggle and keep going until that lightbulb goes on and they understand; those are great moments. Another thing that I love seeing in the classroom is when students work together and teach each other!"
When asked what inspires her, Mrs. Walker shared, "my mom inspires me, as both a teacher and a mom. She is the strongest person I know. She always puts her family first and has been an amazing example of a mother. I don't know what I would do without her. She is also a great teacher and her students are lucky to have her."
Mrs. Walker and her family are members at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
