Greetings, Nouvel Catholic Central families -
During the joyous season of Advent, I pray that our students, families and faculty are filled with hope, peace, joy and love. While we continue to enjoy all that this season brings, I, along with our Board of Trustees, wanted to take a moment to reflect and give thanks for all that Nouvel has achieved this year. We also look forward to growth and blessings in the new year as we continue to execute year four of our Strategic Plan.
We are continually grateful for each and every one of our students and families, for choosing Nouvel. We consider it a privilege to educate the students in our care each and every day and to partner with your family to raise the next generation of courageous leaders. We are thankful for our faculty and staff, who serve as a blessing to so many and continue to live our mission, serving our students and families. Additionally, we are excited to share the success of new initiatives that enhance the student experience at Nouvel.
Enrollment Growth & Student Opportunities
As we embarked on the 2024-25 school year, we were grateful to welcome back 94% of our Nouvel families. Thanks to the support of our current families and welcoming new families to campus, our overall enrollment is up 3% over the previous school year. It is with great joy that we’re experiencing this growth, continued partnership with our current families and the opportunity for more families to be part of our Panther family.
In addition to the growth at the early elementary levels that we’ve previously reported on, this past year we added a third section to our 1st grade offerings and have committed to offering a third section of 2nd grade for the following school year.
In our second year of junior high (7th & 8th) being part of the high school campus, we have continued to expand our offerings and opportunities to those students. For our high schoolers, we have had increased curriculum and elective offerings, and improvements to campus, including two $20,000 A.H. Nickless science grants and library renovations, sponsored through the 1st annual gala. We are fortunate to continue building on past success in our athletics and fine arts programs and love watching our students shine in and outside of the classroom. With all of these positive and unique opportunities for students, it is a great time to be a Panther.
Continuous Enrollment
It is our goal to create a simple re-enrollment process for our current families. Current families and staff will be able to secure their spot for the following school year on January 9th, one week before open preschool enrollment. Continuous enrollment information for grades Young Fives and higher will be communicated during Catholic Schools Week (January 27th), allowing families the opportunity to update their continuous enrollment contracts. Updated family commitments, as well as FACTS (tuition assistance) applications, will be due by March 3, 2025 to ensure adequate time for our administrators to plan effectively for the following school year.
Tuition Update
Through collaboration with the finance committee, Nouvel administrative team and the Board of Trustees, we are sharing the 2025-26 tuition updates (view here). To ensure a continued, exceptional educational experience, you will see that we are implementing a modest tuition increase to support the resources necessary.
There was a 3.6% increase for Y5-8th tuition and 3.8% increase for 9-12 tuition, an average monthly increase for families over 10 months, of $25-35 per student.
A $250 tuition deposit will be collected at the time of registration to secure student enrollment and eligibility for summer athletic, band and extracurricular activity participation. This deposit will be applied as a credit on family tuition accounts in July 2025.
Nouvel is blessed with the support of our Catholic parishes, who provide significant funding to help offset the true cost of education. Thanks to their generous contributions, over $2,000 per student is provided to support our operating budget and keep tuition lower for families. We humbly ask that you thank your parish priest today.
Scholarships & Tuition Assistance
At Nouvel, we make every effort to increase accessibility to a Nouvel education, through offering needs-based aid/assistance opportunities. Nouvel has streamlined our tuition assistance process by working with FACTS, a third-party grant and aid assessment tool. Additionally, through our partnership with the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan (CCFMM), scholarship opportunities are available for families attending Nouvel.
CCFMM Catholic school scholarships are available online and families can apply now through January 24th. A full list of available scholarships and the link to apply can be found online (view here).
Families will be required to complete or update a Nouvel FACTS application by Monday, March 3rd, to be considered for 2025-26 tuition assistance, scholarships or additional discounts. A families’ FACTs application will be used for both opportunities (CCFMM and Tuition Assistance).
This service will provide our tuition assistance committee with verified information to best assist in the disbursement of our financial aid dollars.
FACTS applications can be completed online any time after December 9th and will ask for information from your 2023 tax return. Those that previously submitted a FACTS application will not need to create a new account, just update/verify information.

Choosing the best education for your family, in a safe, nurturing environment, is an investment and a commitment that has a profound impact on your child. Our desire is to continue to partner with you for your child’s education. We thank you for your continued partnership and entrusting the education of your child to Nouvel Catholic Central.
Wishing you a blessed and joyous Advent season,
