On Saturday, February 28, band students from Nouvel Catholic Central High School and Middle School performed at the MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) District Festival.
The annual competition provides an opportunity for ensembles from member schools to perform for and be evaluated by three performance judges and one sight-reading judge.

th and 8
th grade band students received a second division rating overall and a first division rating in site reading.
Students from the Nouvel Catholic Central High School band received a division one rating for their performance.
“This the first time in several years that our band students attended the District festival,” said Nouvel Catholic Central High School Principal, Dan Decuf. “For our students to perform at such a high level for their first competition is a true testament to their hard work and dedication. Mr. Bender has done an incredible job leading the students and we are very proud of this level one achievement.”
