Athletics

Nouvel students study hard, but they also play hard! In 2007-08 Nouvel made Michigan high school sports history by becoming the first school to have its boy’s football team and girl’s basketball team win state titles in consecutive years.

Athletic competition gives students an opportunity to perfect skills while working as part of a team. Research indicates a strong and positive correlation between high school sports participation and academic achievement. More than 70 percent of Nouvel students participate in one or more interscholastic sports.

Nouvel is proud to share the following accomplishments of its sports program:

14 State Championships
13 Runner-up Finishes
62 Regional Championships
Five MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Recipients
Numerous Academic All-State and MHSAA Good Sports are Winners Teams
Two Miss Basketball winners
2007 Sports Illustrated #1 Athletic Program in Michigan

School Athletic Boosters

The mission is to assist Nouvel Catholic Central’s athletic activities through moral, spiritual, physical, and financial support.

Students involved in athletics generally earn better academic marks, learn important life skills and feel more connected to their school. Qualities such as self-esteem and self discipline are imparted through participation in athletic activities.

The Athletic Boosters support all athletic programs and take pride in the winning traditions at NCC. Successful athletic endeavors develop school togetherness and spirit, in addition to bringing the community together.

The boosters meet on the first Sunday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the NCC Hall of Fame room.
